La Pine Middle School provides a positive, healthy learning environment for grades 5-8 in the community of La Pine.  With low teacher/student ratios, proactive use of technology for instruction and learning, and a robust offering of academic and elective classes, the middle school compares well against other schools in more affluent communities.

LPMS focuses on a strong reading program reduces class size for reading classes with federally funded . Students benefit from this, demonstrating strong growth from 5th to 8th grade.  The student enrollment of 500+ enjoys the use of over 180 dedicated-for-student-use computer stations--a ratio that is unmatched in the Bend La Pine system (with the sole exception of Juniper's Technology Magnet School).  At the 7th and 8th grade level, elective classes ranging from the ever-popular Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) to Art to Computers complement Math and Language Arts and other traditional courses.
