I trust that you have been enjoying the summer weather (yes, it did finally arrive!) and change of pace it often provides. Speaking of change... there is quite a bit of that occurring at LPMS these days!
As you know, LPMS' beloved principal, Pat Yaeger, has become the new principal at Rosland Elementary and will also serve as our Chief Academic Officer of South County schools. She will be greatly missed at LPMS, but it is wonderful to have her in La Pine as she continues to work with our students and families.
I am excited to be returning to LPMS after a one-year hiatus, this time as the new principal! La Pine Middle is a great place to work and for students to learn and I am glad to once again be a part of this educational community!
With the 5th grade students being moved to La Pine's elementary schools the middle school will be a little less crowded this year, and we will take on a model that matches all of the other middle schools in our district by being a grades 6 - 8 building.
In an effort to encourage communication on upcoming events and happenings at LPMS, you can look forward to receiving monthly newsletters. You can receive this important piece of communication in one of three ways: by obtaining it from the LPMS website, by providing us with your email address, or by picking up a copy that will be available in the front office. We will verify your email address as part of the registration process.
And speaking of registration, we ask that all students - both returning students and those who are new to LPMS - come in to registration on either August 24th (from 8:00 - 4:00) or August 25th (from 8:00 - 12:00). More information regarding registration can be found in this newsletter.
We will be posting 6th grade homeroom assignments on September 3. Look for them on the front window.
I look forward to a great year of learning and positive changes at La Pine Middle School!
